Chemistry stepping out from the words
I have always felt that chemistry holds far more intrigue than just equations to memorize or exercises requiring a specific answer. Yet, to truly grasp this, students need opportunities for hands-on practice—to observe phenomena and apply their knowledge to solve real-world problems. That is why C-Academy was founded in December 2024; the goal was to foster a love for chemistry that goes beyond textbook theory, focusing instead on the subject's potential to help us explore and transform the real world.

A field trip to Thai Nguyen was a pivotal step in clarifying the path I wanted to pursue. While learning about operations at a coffee farm, I began to consider the volume of by-products generated during production and the untapped potential they held. This sparked a shift in my perspective on waste: I realized that what we discard can often become a valuable resource when approached with scientific knowledge and methodology.

I wanted to infuse this spirit into C-Academy’s activities. Instead of limiting ourselves to lessons on chemical concepts, I sought to create experiences that allowed students to approach issues from multiple angles—ranging from organizing workshops and building water filters using activated carbon derived from coffee grounds to compiling educational e-books.

Through these initiatives, C-Academy gradually evolved beyond the confines of a typical school club. Knowledge of chemistry and STEM reached hundreds of students across Vietnam, expanding access to science for young people eager to learn about the environment and the world around them. That is what I want to continue building with C-Academy: an environment where curiosity is nurtured, knowledge is transformed into experience, and every student can find their voice on the journey of exploring and protecting the environment.
